I'm busting to share some BIG news with you, but first a little backstory...
Just a little over a year ago, I slapped this "coming soon" poster in the window of our shop during the last phases of our renovation at 108 N. Union St. In that moment, I was so looking forward to opening and settling into our new space, meeting you and so many other wonderful customers, and having our little shop feature beautiful handmade goods by artisans around the globe.
In the blink of an eye, all those things I'd envisioned became a reality and somehow, before I knew it, we were celebrating our 1 year anniversary (June 1st of this year).
What I did not envision happening is what I'm about to share with you now:
That poster just got slapped up again, but this time in a different window.
And it's official: WE'RE MOVING!
Which begs the questions:
WHAT? WHEN? WHY? (because moving this soon seems a bit crazy - or is it just me??)
What: We're not moving far - we'll be right around the corner from our current space (103 W. State Street, Kennett Square, PA, to be exact).
When: Renovations are currently underway on the new space and, if all goes smoothly, our target move/reopen date is August 1st. Our current space will remain open during renovations and we'll keep you in the loop with the latest updates (and sneak peeks!) via social media.
Why: We weren't looking to move, and when I first heard that my neighbor, Doug, from State & Union was closing shop, all I felt was sadness (he and his shop have been an awesome addition to our community for as long as I've known Kennett). But one thing led to another and gave me pause to consider making a move in spite of the timing - this new location has more visibility and provides a bit more space, allowing us to expand our inventory and have a greater impact for the artisan groups with whom we partner. With the encouragement of our team, we felt like this was an opportunity we didn't want to miss. So we're rolling up our sleeves, getting to work, and stepping out in faith once again!
