Gently open the hoop, do not pull it apart. Turn one side to open the earring laterally, perpendicular to the opening. If you stretch and pull the earring apart it will be misshapen over time. Slide the earring post through your earlobe, then push it back closed. The post will go back into the tube part of the earring and be secure.
