Bands of sterling silver and upcycled brass from bomb casings intertwine in this ring from Cambodia. Decades of conflict have left the Cambodian countryside littered with bombs—some still dangerous, all a reminder of violence. One by one, the makers at Rajana cut and shape brass bomb casings, safely cleared by a demining agency, into jewelry — wearable statements of peace and progress.

About Ten Thousand Villages:
The name Ten Thousand Villages — was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s quote. Because in every village are people who want to live a meaningful life with dignity and who bring beautiful culture worth sharing. Multiply the village idea by ten thousand and it represents the world we’re working to build.
