ABOUT THE ARTISAN Muna and her mother Nadja work side-by-side in their kitchen at home pouring candles to help pay their monthly rent and provide for their family of six. The shock of starting over in a new country, culture, and language has not diminished their gratitude. They were eager to work and provide for their family. When Muna, mother to her son Ameer, isn't pouring candles she is working long hours as a stocker at a nearby store.

ABOUT THE ARTISAN Mercy House Global is located just outside Houston, Texas, a city of more than 70,000 refugees one of the largest populations in the USA. MHG employs about ten women who have resettled in Houston. This group of artisans is called Local Hope, and created candles, spa products, and home decor for the MHG fair trade line.
