Kumale Ceramics is crafted from locally sourced, non-porous red clay using time-honored methods. Kumale Ceramics preserves craftsman legacy with a blend of modern techniques. The result is stoneware that is beautiful and competes with the attributes of mass-produced kitchenware.

Kumale is made in a historic pottery center outside Kathmandu, one of Nepal's oldest pottery villages. The artisans strongly believe in preserving the tradition of handmade pottery and their cultural heritage and despite all the modern influences the potters here still find their livelihood on their potter's wheel.

Humble Hilo supports practicing Fair Trade principles and thus supporting the protection of young women and artisans in Nepal working to break the cycle of poverty.
