This beautiful purse is hand-embroidered in Bangladesh with traditional Dhaka embroidery. Embroidery is an important part of production, as it can be made everywhere, even in remote villages where few other jobs are available. The women can work from home at their convenience. For some producers this is their first opportunity to earn an independent income, allowing them to provide for their families, improve their living conditions, and put their children through school.
