The design

The metals are strong, but not rigid, capable of keeping their shape but adaptive and forgiving giving them a simplicity and air of grace.

Materials: all NOMAD 14k gold-filled materials are made in the USA.

All of the metal hardware is 14k gold-filled and hypoallergenic and nickel-free.

Gold-filled is constructed in two or three layers. The core metal is jewelers’ brass, then the gold is bonded to the surface of the brass core with heat and pressure. Unlike gold plated (aka electroplated or "dipped") metals, Gold-filled is legally required to contain 5% or 1/20 gold by weight. Gold-filled is more durable than gold plated and less expensive than pure gold.

About Revolution Lancaster:

Revolution Lancaster is a non-profit social enterprise located in Lancaster, PA. We offer handcrafted jewelry items that reflect the inherent worth women possess. We provide jewelry workshops every Wednesday and the women in our program, our Makers, are referred to us by local homeless shelters as well as our local YWCA and Domestic Violence Services. Once in the program, we train our Makers to craft jewelry beautifully and pay them cash per piece they create. This is jewelry for women, by women. Our items are made with either 14k gold-filled or sterling silver metals, both hypoallergenic and neither will tarnish. We try to source all of our materials in the USA and have been successful with the majority of raw materials. Your purchases provide supplemental income to women affected by homelessness or facing barriers. Each purchase allows us to continue offering consistent, weekly workshops where we can show up as a community of women to support each other and have a creative reprieve.
